Indiahoma Public School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to support teachers and students in delivering high-quality education. The ideal candidate will assist in classroom management, instruction, and the overall educational experience of students, particularly those requiring additional academic or behavioral support.

  • Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and classroom management
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts
  • Support students with special needs under the direction of certified staff
  • Help maintain a safe, orderly, and supportive learning environment
  • Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, lunchrooms, hallways, recess, and school transportation
  • Prepare classroom materials and resources as directed
  • Assist with record-keeping, attendance, and documentation
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents when necessary
  • Follow school policies and procedures as outlined by the district and administration
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or principal
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree or two years of college coursework (preferred)
  • Paraprofessional certification or ability to obtain one (as required by Oklahoma State Department of Education)
  • Experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, reliability, and a commitment to student growth
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • School-based setting (elementary through high school, depending on assignment)
  • May require physical activity such as standing, lifting, or helping students with mobility needs
  • Requires adaptability to various classroom environments and student needs
